This high-tech yet easy to use dimmer takes your home into the future by giving you the ability to set the speed at which the light fades On and Off, a preset on-level for always remembering your favorite brightness level and best of all being able to remotely control the dimmer from a handheld remote, wall keypad, computer or mobile phone (controllers are sold separately). Similar to the best selling SwitchLinc Dimmer, this newest member of the SwitchLinc family has the ability to communicate using both the electrical wires in the home as well as using radio frequency (RF). This increases reliability not only for the dimmer but for all devices on an INSTEON home control network (similar to the function of an Access Point).

The SwitchLinc installs like a traditional wall switch with the exception of requiring connection to neutral. Most homes have a neutral wire available (see How to check if I have neutral wires?). If you do not have a neutral wire available, use the SwitchLinc 2-Wire Dimmer. Once installed setup is quick and easy using a simple programming.

Slim Design

Scene Lighting
Scenes allow you to control multiple lights, rooms or even the whole home with a single command. Because the SwitchLinc Dimmer can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. All member lights can ramp to your independently desired brightness levels at your chosen ramp rate(s). So one set of lights can dim slowly, while another set turns off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button. Compatibility
The SwitchLinc Dimmer is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that it can respond to an X10 power line command from an X10 controller. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.

Non-Volatile Memory
All SwitchLinc Dimmer settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the SwitchLinc Dimmer will return to its last brightness level when power is restored.

Note: As with all wall dimmers, the SwitchLinc may feel warm during operation. Rigorously tested and approved to UL-standards, the amount of heat generated falls well within approved limits and poses no threat to your home or the lifespan of the device.

The Insteon Light switch can replace any light switch in your home and then be "connected" or "controlled" by any other Insteon controller. This allows any Insteon Switch to control other Insteon switch allowing you to make any two or more circuits "connected." Need to have both ends of a hallway control the hall light? Turn on the Front lawn light from inside your bedroom so you can look out the window and see what's up? This is the simplest answer and requires no new wires to be run!

Here's a neat trick! Let's say you want to add a switch in the bedroom to control all the lights in the house but you don't want any other fancy control stuff to do it. You can simply add on a switch to the existing switch! How? Well each switch has the wiring you need to add the Insteon switches into your home You can easily add an Insteon switch next to an existing switch and then jump the wires over to it. Now you have your regular switch and a smart switch that can be "connected" to do any of your insteon tasks in the house!

Of course there are several other ways to do this with remotes and even your cell phone, but for situations that might require a simple operation like elderly or children, this is a great solution.
